POSITION SUMMARY:
The Compliance Manager will support the Chief Compliance Officer, having primary responsibility for supporting Hirtle Callaghan's compliance program. The role requires a strong understanding of compliance and operational issues, changing laws and regulations, and developing risk areas. The role must be able to work independently and interact with senior level specialist managers.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administration of the Hirtle Callaghan's compliance program including:
- Work closely with the compliance team on regulatory and compliance matters
- Maintain and enhance Hirtle Callaghan's policies and procedure manual
- Conduct internal control reviews and forensic testing as part of 206(4)-7 requirements
- Administer compliance and operational reviews of the Hirtle Callaghan Liquid, Private Equity and Hedge Specialist Managers
Comprehensive understanding of operational and compliance components of registered investment advisers as well as Liquid and Hedge Fund Specialist Managers (private equity a plus), including trading, valuation, settlements, and regulatory mandates (code of ethics, disaster recovery, etc.)
Ability to work independently and interact with all levels of the organization as well as senior management of Specialist Managers;
Responsible for researching developments in compliance and operational best practices, changes in laws and regulations and identifying new risk areas of the Specialist Managers;
Individual must be able to think critically and analytically and be able to identify potential compliance or operational issues;

QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-7 years compliance experience
- Experience either internally at an Investment Advisor or Hedge Fund. Alternatively, a candidate that has worked in consulting or multiple areas of an Administrator, and therefore broad experience, may be successful.
- Required - strong Microsoft Office suite skills.
