The Hirtle Callaghan Investment Leadership Award
The Hirtle Callaghan Investment Leadership Award was developed to recognize exemplary investment practitioners who have demonstrated professional excellence over time. The Hirtle Callaghan Award for Investment Leadership will be awarded annually to an investment professional who has demonstrated sustained excellence in investment management and uncompromising ethical conduct. The award includes a cash grant for independent capital markets research in the name of the honoree. The award is presented at the annual Hirtle Callaghan Chief Investment Officers Roundtable, traditionally held in April at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia. A press release detailing some of the honoree's investment career as well as a formal announcement in the Wall Street Journal follow the award. Several areas of qualification will be considered by the Award Committee. They include: Integrity. The nominee will embody the highest standards of integrity. Investment professionals are entrusted with the financial future of the families and institutions that they serve. The committee will be looking for evidence that the nominee embraces integrity as an absolute in personal and professional life. Dedication. The nominee will have demonstrated exceptional dedication to clients. The committee will be looking for evidence that the nominee has consistently placed client interests ahead of his or her own. Wisdom. The nominee will have demonstrated a successful appreciation of risk and return. The committee will look for evidence that through various market conditions, over time, the nominee has successfully captured return while avoiding inappropriate levels of risk. Balance. The nominee will have demonstrated an open mind receptive to new investment ideas and vehicles while maintaining a disciplined appreciation for timeless measures of value and opportunity. Leadership. At their best, investment professionals lead their clients to success. The committee will be looking for evidence that the nominee used insight, persistence and interpersonal skill to convince clients to embark upon and stick with a path to investment success. Investment Success. The nominee will have demonstrated investment success within the context of a particular mission and time frame.
