Connecting Faith and Fiduciary Duty at the 2025 DFMC Conference

We were honored to sponsor the 2025 Diocesan Fiscal Management Conference (DFMC) in Philadelphia last week and host the Opening Night Reception.

One of the highlights was bringing together CFOs from across the country for breakfast at the Barnes Foundation, where a leading Catholic theologian from The Catholic University of America shared reflections on faith, leadership, and ethics in today’s world. Our discussion explored how Catholic Social Teaching informs business and investing, the role of faith in public life, and how we might thoughtfully engage with the emerging ethical challenges of artificial intelligence.

As part of that discussion, we shared a case study illustrating how we partner with Catholic dioceses and institutions to build unified, mission-aligned investment programs. This real-life case exemplifies our mission: to simplify complexity, strengthen governance, and ensure investments serve both fiduciary and faith-based objectives.

If you’re exploring ways to strengthen your diocese’s investment governance and mission alignment, You can access the full case study or contact us to discuss how Hirtle Callaghan can help.

We are grateful to the DFMC community for a meaningful few days of learning, connection, and shared purpose.
